Bellmawr 5, Roughriders 3 July 26, 2015
HADDONFIELD – The Roughriders were eliminated from the 2015 playoffs with a 5-3 loss to Bellmawr in a first round TriCounty matchup. Bellmawr broke a scoreless tie with a three-run fourth to open the scoring, but the Roughs would respond in their home half with five consecutive singles. Back-to-back hits from Adam Bartholomew (3-4, RS, SB) and Phil Guinto were followed by Ryan Easterday’s RBI single to cut the lead to 3-1. After Mark DiArenzo lined a base hit to center to load the bases, Tyler Easterday singled to make it 3-2. But the Roughriders missed a huge opportunity to tack on more runs, not scoring again despite having the bases loaded with no one out. After Bellmawr took a 4-2 lead in the fifth, Ryan Easterday delivered his second RBI single of the evening that same inning, scoring Alex Reinicker to again make it a one run game. However, the Roughriders would leave five runners on base over the final three innings and allow Bellmawr to slip into the next round with the win. The Roughs out-hit Bellmawr 12-10, but stranded nine runners on base in total for the game. Nick Cavanaugh went all seven innings in the loss, striking out six and scattering 10 hits. Ryan Easterday went 3-4 along with his two RBI to pace the offense.
