2008 Preview
Jonathan George

RHP Jonathan George continues to make his way up the minor league ladder by beginning the 2008 season with the Tulsa Drillers, Double A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. George, drafted out of high school in 2002, is in his seventh season of minor league baseball and third year with the Rockies. Last year pitching in High A ball with the Modesto Nuts of the California League, George went 5-4 with a 3.97 ERA. He yielded 66 hits in 65.2 innings, striking out 35 and walking only 20. He recorded three saves. George played with the Roughriders from 2000-2001.



Steve Wyland

INF Steve Wyland has signed a professional contract with the Atlantic City Surf, independent team of the Can-Am League, for the 2008 season. This is the second stop for Wyland in his professional career, as he signed on with the Brockton Rox of the Can-Am League in 2007. Wyland's stay there was cut short due to an injury to his throwing hand after just six games. The Surf begin their season on May 22 in Quebec, Ontario versus Les Capitales. Wyland played with the Roughriders in 2004, and also in 2006-07.
